Zouheir Al-Khani Law Firm
Zouheir Al-Khani joined the Lawyers' Syndicate in 1957. At the beginning the Office was established to work in the field of financial and customs lawsuits because he was a technical employee and a Director at the General Directorate of Customs.
Work has been continuous at the Office since 1957 till the present time, except for two periods, the first period lasted for two years and a half while Al-Khani resided at the Jesuit University in Beirut to study Political Economics and the second period lasted for three years while Al-Khani was a State Minister for the Affairs of the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Economics and Foreign Trade.
After completing hiswork for the Ministry, the Office worked in the field of the State Council lawsuits and real estates, commercial, civil and arbitration lawsuits. Primarily, the Office did not work in religious, penal and military lawsuits, except those related to customs and financial affairs.
The Office was assigned to work:
• For Local and Foreign Companies on permanent basis (Local: Arab Transit Company, Hamour & Bazz Company “my work for this Company was recently ended” and Nazir Hadaya & Partners Company).
• For Foreign Companies on permanent basis: Japanese Sumitomo Company “I still represent this company for Financial Affairs”, Japanese Nicho Iwai Company “its office was recently moved to Amman”, Japanese Nichemen Company “its office was moved to Beirut, but it still has some lawsuits, Orient Company for Transporting Gas and British Petrofac Company for Petroleum.
• For Several Companies for specified periods or for arbitration, like: Greek Naphtomar Company for Gas and American Key Engineering Company for Petroleum “its works were recently moved to another place”.
• As an Arbiter in State Petroleum lawsuits at Paris Chamber of Commerce (CCI), and as an International Arbiter in Syria . I also worked as a Lawyer in State and Local Arbitration.
Our firm has eight lawyers who work in several fields of specialization.
