Syrian Arab Red Crescent is an independent humanitarian organization. It was founded in 1942 and has been a humanitarian association recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva in 1946, the organization is committed to Geneva Conventions and basic principles of the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, and have headquarters in Damascus and fourteen branches in all governorates and a number of sub-branches in some provinces.
